I made it onto undies

You’ve hit stardom if you’ve got little doll-sized replicas of yourself selling at all toy retailers — But I think I reached where no pop-star has gone before: I’ve made it onto undies (underwear/under-garments).

What the futon is that?

I just realised what the black square in the corner of my browser window, which only appeared when I was logged into Gmail was. It’s a little pixellated ‘page fold’.

Futile attempt Google – doesn’t even look one bit like a page fold, in fact, I thought I got a new dead pixel.

Update: Seems there is worldwide concern for this pixelized piece of art. It’s nothing more than a stack of iframes joined together.

Square Soap

I don’t understand why soap companies are still bringing out square soap – it is very, very uncomfortable to use.

The kicks you can get out of stacking cups

I've seen these around on YouTube for ages - It's such a stupid sport, yet it's so interesting. It's stupid in the sense that it's just a useless skill in stacking cups (unless you're some dishwasher person; which even if you are so, is still a stupid skill), and also stupid because of the over-exaggerated reaction of the surrounding people. Apparently, in the 8th grade, some schools teach this to kids.

Check out the mum's attire -- Very hip.

Kingston Datatraveler 2gb benchmark

Couldn’t find this online, so I thought I would document this for other people to see (and also gain hits from search engines).

Kingston Datatraveler 2GB (DTI/2GB) [green], USB 2.0 interface

Objective: Investigate the read and write speed of the drive.

Test subject: 701 MB .avi file

Results:

Read: 4.27 MB/s
Write: 3.01 MB/s

Evaluation:

Very slow, even for a consumer-level drive. However, there have been reports of even slower drives out there on the market. Patience is highly recommended.

Good-game

Eric Stricket of Massey writes:

On Tuesday morning I was walking through the Takapuna Beach carpark when a sudden commotion broke out. A group of young men, who had just finished a stint on the water in outrigger canoes and were packing their car ready to go, were at the centre of the fuss. The cause of the commotion? A big seagull had swooped down and grabbed a set of car keys, resulting in the bird being chased and the keys being dropped into the ocean, never to be seen again.
